Taipei Water Festival 2026: Two Water Parks, Inflatable Slides And Ice Pops To 30 Aug

2026 Taipei Water Festival dual-park summer opening at water park and water recreation park

The 2026 Taipei Water Festival opened on 4 July and runs to 30 August 2026 under the "Two Parks, One Summer" theme, joining the Water Country Garden at the Taipei Water Park and the reopened Water Recreation Park across two sites within walking distance of Gongguan MRT. The festival is the city's longest-running summer family programme, over 20 years old, and this year brings the Water Recreation Park (formerly the Water Wukong Park and Rohr Castle) back online after renovation with a full-size outdoor slide and a lazy river. Hours are 09:00 to 18:00, Tuesday to Sunday, with the park closed on Mondays.

Two Inflatable Slides Only To 2 August

The headline draw is the two limited-period inflatable water slides, both running only 4 July to 2 August. The Rainbow Horse slide is the brighter of the two, with a large shaded splash pool at the bottom suited to younger children. The Pink Octopus slide is the bigger draw for older kids and is the one you see on the official posters. Rules are strict: swimsuits only, no shoes, height minimum 100 cm, all metal jewellery and accessories off before entry, daily 12:00 to 13:00 cleaning pause, 17:00 close-out, and immediate suspension if there is lightning, thunder, power instability, or wind over level 5. These are not optional - the Water Park runs them on every visitor.

Ice Pops, A 30-Booth Fair, And Free Entry On Opening Day

The 4 July opening day was the best-value day of the run: the Water Park was free entry and the Water Recreation Park ran at NT$100 full and student, NT$50 concession. The opening weekend, 4 and 5 July, also hosted the Ice Festival, with limited Water Festival ice pops given out for completing a task, and a 30-plus booth fair that took over the entrance area. The Gongguan business district partnership runs through 13 September: show a paper Water Park or Water Recreation Park ticket stub at over 60 participating shops (hotpot, international cuisine, coffee, tea, plus the Shuiyuan Market food stalls) for a discount. The cross-park deal with the Children's New Park PILIGILI Water Park in Shilin runs across the full festival window, with 20 percent off a single ticket at either park when you show a stub from the other.

The Full Programme Through August

Outside the water activities, the festival rolls out a themed programme through the summer. 12 July hosts the Hakka Affairs Council cultural performance with the Naturally Nature Theatre. 1 to 2 August and 8 to 9 August feature indigenous cultural performances. 15 August is the Qixi (Chinese Valentine's Day) themed programme. 22 August runs a "Cosers X Underground Water Palace" heritage photography event inside the historic pumping-station building, which is the most adults-focused event of the run and a rare chance to photograph the 1908 machinery with a costume group. The Water Country Garden itself has been upgraded for 2026 with new water-cascade features and a full refresh of the toddler play equipment.

How To Get There And What To Bring

Both water parks are within a 5 to 10 minute walk of Gongguan MRT station on the green line, which is the single easiest public-transport access of any Taipei summer festival. The Water Country Garden is at 1 Siyuan Street, Zhongzheng District, inside the Taipei Water Park; the Water Recreation Park is at the end of Section 3 Tingzhou Road, next to the Liangshui Historic Pumping Station plaza. Bring a swimsuit, towel and change of clothes; lockers are available on-site. The inflatable slides require swimsuits, so if you only want the splash pools, street clothes are fine but you will be limited to the wading areas.
