Taipei Jazz Festival turns 20 this autumn, and the city spread it across six weeks instead of one riverside weekend. Taipei Travel lists 4 September to 11 October 2026. Three strands share the name: club nights, outdoor "party" sets at landmarks, and a three-day Jazz Right stage at Taipei Music Center in Nangang.
Feel Jazz Night Live is 19 indoor shows in 12 jazz rooms. Absolute Jazz Party is 12 sets in five scenic or cultural spaces. Jazz Right is 11 Taiwanese and international acts over three days at the Music Center, with a jazz market 9–11 October, 16:00–21:00, in the outdoor performance space. The Department of Cultural Affairs and Taipei Music Center present it. The festival Instagram is the live grid for door times that the calendar page still leaves blank.
Club nights first, because they sell out before the lawn does
The 12 rooms are the part visitors miss if they only screenshot the Music Center pin. Those gigs are ticketed by the venue, not a single KKTIX dump. Book the room, then book dinner within a 10-minute walk. Nangang's outdoor stage can wait until October. September is for sitting close to a piano in a room that already had a jazz policy in April.
Absolute Jazz Party is the tourist-friendly layer: landmarks and cultural spaces, 12 performances, often free or donation. Confirm each listing. A "free jazz in a park" post on Facebook is not a door policy. Taipei Travel's English page is the cleanest official summary. Jazz Right at the Music Center, 9–11 October
The 20th-anniversary headline sits in Nangang, not Daan. Kunyang MRT on the Bannan line is the short walk, 8–10 minutes. Nangang Station is 10–12 minutes and better if you arrive by HSR. The same civic boulevard was just used for Jam Jam Asia on 29–30 August, so the neighbourhood already knows how to close Civic Boulevard Section 8. Expect similar advice: take the MRT, ignore the taxi rank on the south side of the boulevard if it is suspended again.
Eleven acts in three days is a festival density, not a club bill. The market hours, 16:00–21:00, overlap soundcheck and early sets. Eat before you enter if you need a proper dinner. Nangang's malls and the CityLink complex next to the HSR station will take the overflow. Do not count on a sit-down reservation at 19:00 on 10 October without booking.
How to use the 20th year without living in Nangang
Pick one club night in September, one Absolute Jazz Party set wherever the five sites land, and one Jazz Right day in October. That is a festival.
