The Pokémon Company has confirmed PokéXciting! in Taipei as the Taiwan stop of its 30th anniversary Asia tour, running Saturday 10 October and Sunday 11 October 2026 at Xiangti Boulevard and its surrounding area in Xinyi District. Entry is free and open to everyone, and the announcement (posted 1 July on the official Asia 30th anniversary portal) confirms that Taipei is the second of five tour cities, after Kuala Lumpur (12 to 13 September) and before Singapore (7 to 8 November), Manila (23 to 24 January 2027) and Bangkok (13 to 14 February 2027). The headline event is a Pokémon parade through the venue, with fan-favourite characters marching in time to music.

The Pink PokéXciting! Pikachu: A Taipei-Exclusive Variant

Each tour city gets its own colour variant of the PokéXciting! Pikachu mascot, and Taipei has been announced as the pink variation. This is the collectible angle of the tour: the pink Taipei Pikachu will appear on exclusive merchandise sold at the event, as a city-specific limited line, and will also appear in-game in Pokémon GO during the event window. The in-game tie-in means Trainers globally get a parallel digital experience, but the pink variant as a physical figure and on merchandise is only available at the Taipei event. The merchandise booth will sell the Taipei-edition PokéXciting! Pikachu line, so expect the booth to be the busiest single element of the two-day event.

POKÉGENIC Photo Spots Scattered Across The Venue

The whole Xiangti Boulevard area will be transformed into a Pokémon-themed zone, with POKÉGENIC decorative photo installations placed across the venue. Pokémon will appear in unexpected spots, encouraging visitors to explore the full length of the boulevard and discover characters by walking rather than being directed to a single installation. The framing is that you photograph yourself next to Pokémon in their hiding spots, with different poses at each one, and share the photos on social media. This is the day-to-dusk activity layer on top of the parade, and for families with young children it is the part that will eat the most time. The full venue will be immersed in Pokémon theming across the two days.

The Night Stage And The Daytime Family Programme

When the sun sets, the night-stage programme takes over. The official announcement describes special stage shows featuring the PokéXciting! Pikachu, with "danceable beats and a spectacular production" and energy levels built for evening crowds. The daytime programme is explicitly designed for children and families, with the framing of "a memorable two-day event that will bring smiles to fans of all generations", so the event is not just for adult collectors. For the Pokémon GO player base, the in-game PokéXciting! Pikachu appearance means the digital and physical events run in parallel, and the announcement suggests charging phones fully before attending.

Save-The-Date Logistics For A Two-Day Free Event In Xinyi

With a free, open-air event in Xinyi on a long-weekend-adjacent October window, expect dense crowds. Xiangti Boulevard is the pedestrian spine running from Taipei City Hall MRT station (blue line) toward the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi complex, so the access logistics are about as easy as a large-scale event gets in Taipei, but the trade-off is that every nearby restaurant and cafe will be full. For the merchandise booth specifically, going on the Saturday morning opening is the safest play for limited items; the Sunday afternoon is the lowest-pressure window for the parade and POKÉGENIC walk-around but the highest pressure for merchandise. Note the adjacent Taipei Pokémon RUN 30 event is scheduled for 17 to 18 October in Taipei, so a longer Pokémon-themed trip to the city can combine both.
