Guandu Dinosaur Park Taipei 2026: 70 Life-Size Animatronic Dinosaurs At Guandu Wharf
Dinosaurs Return: Guandu Adventure Park at Guandu Wharf in Beitou is a 1,500-ping outdoor dinosaur park running from 17 January 2026 through to 21 February 2027, with nearly 70 life-size animatronic dinosaurs across four themed zones. The largest dinosaur on site is a 13-metre, 20-metre-long Brachiosaurus-type specimen, and the animatronics are built to breathe, swing heads, and emit low-frequency roars that register in your chest at close range. This is the largest outdoor dinosaur exhibition in northern Taiwan, staged beside the Guandu Wharf container market in one of Taipei's best sunset-viewing spots. Daily hours are 10:00 to 18:00, last entry 17:00.
Four Zones, From "Jurassic Secret Realm" To "Brave The Dinosaur Island"
The park is laid out across four themed zones. "Jurassic Secret Realm" is the calmer opener, with herbivores and a steadier pace. "Predator Attack" is where the raptors wait, with staging that aims for jump-scare timing. "Giant Beasts" is the visual climax, with the 13-metre sauropods and a face-off between a mutant T-Rex and a regular Tyrannosaurus. The final "Brave The Dinosaur Island" is the interactive zone, where you spend tokens (NT$50 each) on dinosaur rides, a feeding-the-Triceratops animatronic, and a dinosaur-costume meet-and-greet with staff photographers. The free Head-Butting Dragon boxing game is in this zone too, with padded gloves and a Versus-style ring.
Tickets, Family Deals, And How To Buy
Single-day tickets are NT$260 weekday and NT$300 weekend. Family tickets are NT$590 weekday and NT$700 weekend, covering two adults and one child aged 3 to 12 (must enter together, 1-adult-2-children does not qualify). Concession tickets at NT$220 weekday and NT$250 weekend cover domestic college-and-below with student ID, plus children 3 to 12, and the child concession includes one bonus game token. Under-3s enter free with a paying adult, as do disability-card holders regardless of nationality. The easiest purchase channels are KKday, Klook, the organiser Mediasphere, and ibon; on-site purchase is possible but expect the on-site queue to be longer on weekends. Winter and summer vacation weekdays count as "weekday" pricing, but the Lunar New Year window (14 to 22 February) counts as "weekend".
The Queue System And How To Beat It
The park uses a hybrid queue system that has generated the most online complaints since opening. On arrival, you scan a QR code to take a number, then bind the number to LINE for a push notification. One number covers four people. You do not have to stand on site while waiting; the recommended move is to walk to the adjacent Guandu Wharf container market for a drink and a snack, and come back when LINE pings you. The official credit-card-holder "fast track" sounds useful but is often itself a long queue, so do not blindly join it. Re-entry on the same day is allowed with a hand stamp, exit via the entry gate. The smart play is to arrive in the late afternoon when the queue has burned down, do the park, then stay for sunset at the wharf.
Pairing With Guandu Temple And The Container Market
Guandu Wharf is one of the most underused sunset spots in Taipei, and the dinosaur park has materially extended the time visitors spend in the area. The Guandu Wharf container market runs alongside, with two floors of international food and drink stalls and a rooftop balcony with views across to Guanyin Mountain and the red Guandu Bridge. The 300-year-old Guandu Temple is a 10-minute walk away and is one of the most important Mazu temples in northern Taiwan, with a food street opposite for local snacks, oyster omelette, stinky tofu and oyster-pan. The nearest MRT is Guandu Station on the red line, then bus Red 35 or Small 23 to the Guandu Wharf stop, or a 15-minute walk. Parking at the Guandu Wharf lot is the closest option for drivers.
