Japanese supermarket chain LOPIA opened its 13th Taiwan store, and its largest in northern Taiwan, at B1 of Miramar Department Store in Dazhi on 9 July 2026, and the opening-day queue of more than 500 people tells you what the brand has become in Taiwan. The new store is built around a "food theme park" concept: a deli counter with over 200 items, the largest Japanese-product selection of any LOPIA in Taiwan, and a custom-cut meat counter making its first appearance in Taipei. Run through 30 September, Miramar is running a cardholder promo where a single receipt over NT$2,000 at LOPIA with a Shin Guang Bai Le Card earns a NT$100 credit back.

Why The Queue: 20-Yen Salmon Nigiri And Buy-One-Get-One Wagyu

The opening-day draws were specific and extreme. Fresh salmon nigiri at NT$20 a piece, with fish portions the general manager says are roughly double the size of a typical conveyor-belt sushi chain. Black-hair wagyu grilling cuts at buy-one-get-one, dropping the effective price to NT$149 per 100g from the NT$298 list price, on 9 July only; 10 to 12 July the whole-cut black-hair wagyu ran at NT$288 per 100g. The deli counter, the real reason regulars will keep coming back, runs over 200 items: pizza, Japanese and Korean deli, pasta, desserts, fried foods, soba, udon, eel pressed sushi, eel rice bowls, Japanese bento, katsudon, oyakodon, plus a Smash Burger and a runny-egg wagyu bowl that are firsts for the chain in Taipei. The Hoshino group dessert brand Kaju has a limited collab line only available here.

Custom-Cut Meat And The First Taipei Frozen-Seasoned Zone

LOPIA's identity in Japan is built on meat, and the Dazhi store is the first in Taipei to install a custom-cut counter: you pick the cut, the staff cuts to spec. A frozen-seasoned meat zone, also a Taipei first for the chain, runs pre-marinated cuts you can cook straight from the bag. The fruit section is roughly 1.5 times the size of the LaLaport Nangang store, and for the first time in Taipei LOPIA is running a full fruit-dessert series with US cherries, muscat grapes, and Japanese Fuji and Shinano Gold apples to the same standard as Japanese LOPIA stores. The sushi section is also about 1.5 times the Nangang store, with an open prep area visible from the floor.

Mirara Card Promo And The Cross-Park PILIGILI Deal

Through 30 September, Mirara is running a cardholder promo: spend NT$2,000 in a single receipt at the LOPIA with a Shin Guang Bai Le Card and get NT$100 back. App members get a separate summer-points bonus: NT$5000 single spend earns 200 points, NT$25,000 single spend earns a Sunbeam foot-massage machine. The store is at B1, No. 20 Jingye 3rd Road, Zhongshan District, in Miramar Department Store, the former JASONS supermarket slot. The nearest MRT is Jiannan Road Station on the brown line, about 5 minutes via the department-store shuttle or a 10-minute walk.

Go On A Tuesday Morning If You Want To Actually Shop

Opening week drew two-hour checkout lines and the kind of social-media mockery that any viral supermarket launch attracts in Taipei. If you want to actually browse, go on a weekday morning in the first opening hour; the 11:00 door-open tends to be the calmest window. The wagyu opening promos are over but the deli restock cycle means late afternoon is when the sushi and bento counters look fullest. Miramar itself has the Ferris wheel and a food court upstairs, so a LOPIA run combines easily with a half-day in Dazhi.
