Starbucks Reserve is the premium tier of the Starbucks brand, focused on small-lot single-origin coffees brewed by methods beyond the standard espresso machine - siphon, pour-over, clover and the Black Eagle espresso machine used in barista competitions. The Taipei 101 branch was, until its recent closure, one of the highest Starbucks in the world, and the Reserve format brought the brand's top-tier coffee to the tower.
The menu runs the Reserve coffee range alongside the standard Starbucks drinks, with the Reserve beans rotating through origins and a food menu of pastries and light plates. It is the choice for visitors who want a familiar brand but a better cup than the high-street Starbucks, in a setting designed for a longer sit.
The branch is inside the Taipei 101 mall. Note that the original high-floor Starbucks has closed, with Simple Kaffa Sola now holding the highest-cafe slot in the building.
