芋包芋, which translates as "taro wrapped in taro" or "taro within taro", is a taro-focussed dessert stall inside Raohe Night Market on Raohe Street in Taipei's Songshan District. Taro is a recurring flavour at Raohe - travel guides note the market's deep-fried sweet-potato balls come in taro flavour, and taro-based buns and pastries are a Taiwanese night-market staple - so a stall doubling down on taro, with a taro wrapper encasing a taro filling, fits squarely within the market's sweet-snack tradition.\nThe stall is located at number 65 Raohe Street, along the market's food stretch. Raohe Night Market is roughly 600 metres long, was officially established in 1987 and runs nightly from about 5pm to 11pm, a two-minute walk from Exit 5 of Songshan MRT station on the green Songshan-Xindian line and beside the Ciyou Temple, founded in 1753. A taro-stuffed taro stall suits sweet-toothed visitors and anyone who loves the soft, earthy, gently sweet character of taro.\nPick up a warm taro parcel and eat it as you stroll towards the lit-up Ciyou Temple. Purple, plush and quietly comforting, it is a lovely, low-key way to round off an evening of Raohe grazing.Operating Hours

芋包芋: The egg yolk and custard taro ball was definitely my favorite out of everything I got. It had a surprising element of explosive runny custard inside the taro goodness. I’d get this every time I visit this night market
