Every time I come to Taiwan, I have to eat salted chicken at Raohe Night Market! Because I have a strong palate, it's rare to find a restaurant whose flavors perfectly suit my taste.

饒河街鹽水雞, "Raohe Street Salted Chicken", is a cold-poultry stall inside Raohe Night Market on Raohe Street in Taipei's Songshan District. The stall serves yanshui ji (鹽水雞), a classic Taiwanese cold dish of chicken gently poached in seasoned, salted brine, then chopped and tossed to order with sliced onions, cucumber, chilli, garlic and peanut powder - a refreshing, savoury counterpoint to Raohe's mostly fried and grilled offerings.\nThe stall is located at number 106 Raohe Street, within the market's food stretch, and can be reached by phone on +886 955 681 675. Raohe Night Market is roughly 600 metres long, was officially established in 1987 and runs nightly from about 5pm to 11pm, a two-minute walk from Exit 5 of Songshan MRT station on the green Songshan-Xindian line and beside the Ciyou Temple, founded in 1753. A salted-chicken stall suits diners after a lighter, protein-forward snack and groups assembling a shared feast from several stalls.\nHave the vendor chop and dress a portion to your taste, then carry the box down the lane to pair with pepper buns or sweet-potato balls. Cool, salty and quietly moreish, it is a reliably refreshing anchor for a hot Raohe evening.Based on 19 Google reviews
