大上海香酥雞饒河店 is a crispy fried chicken stall on Raohe Street in Taipei's Songshan District. The name translates as "Big Shanghai fragrant crispy chicken, Raohe branch" (大上海香酥雞), and the specialism is xiangsugi (香酥雞, "fragrant crispy chicken") - a close cousin of the Taiwanese night-market staple yansugi (鹹酥雞 / 鹽酥雞, "salty crispy chicken"), in which bite-sized pieces of chicken are coated in seasoned flour and deep-fried. Taiwanese fried chicken is one of the country's most recognisable street snacks and a fixture of night market food culture.\n\nThe stall stands inside Raohe Street Night Market, a roughly 600-metre tourist night market in Songshan District that was officially established in 1987. The market runs from Fuyuan Street to the 1753-founded Ciyou Temple and is a two-minute walk from Exit 5 of Songshan MRT Station on the green Songshan-Xindian line, opening nightly from around 5pm to 11pm. Food stalls cluster in the market's third section, towards the temple end, and fried chicken is a standard sight among Raohe's grilled, steamed and skewered offerings. A crispy chicken stop here suits anyone who wants hot, crunchy, salty street food eaten straight from the bag.\n\nOrder a portion to share, sprinkle on extra pepper or chilli powder to taste, and eat it while it is still hot and crackly. It is the kind of simple, moreish bite that keeps Raohe's lane crowded night after night.Operating Hours

I had a small bag of crispy chicken and a small bag of king oyster mushrooms. The crispy chicken had a unique flavor, but it was a bit cold. The freshly fried king oyster mushrooms were super juicy and delicious! 😋 …

Crispy Chicken $60, Sweet Potato with Plum $50. Some were fried; just order and pick them up. The Crispy Chicken had the classic crispy coating and was served hot, while the Sweet Potato with Plum was a bit cold.
