開丼 燒肉vs丼飯 台北101店 at Taipei 101
Location: B1樓, No. 45號, City Hall Rd, Xicun Village, Xinyi District, Taipei City, Taiwan 110
Taipei 101 Shopping center
The 101 branch is a casual, counter-and-table dining room that turns over quickly, with set meals built around a main plus rice, soup and sides. It is one of the more affordable sit-down options in the building, and the grill-it-yourself format makes it a lively choice for a small group or a family with older children.
The branch runs on a walk-in basis at lunch, with queues common but fast-moving. It is on the food floor of the mall, a two-minute walk from Taipei 101/World Trade Center MRT.

開丼台北101店 serves up quality donburi and grilled meats in a polished teishoku-style format. The meat is the undeniable star—tender, flavorful, and well-cooked. While there’s a bit of a wait and the sides are merely passable, it’s one of the …

Before I do the review, I wanted to try and figure out what this place is actually called. The sign is only in Japanese, so I used AI to figure it out. Here are the details... Original signage... 開丼 焼肉 vs 丼飯 ひとりでも いただきます 地表最強 Translation: • 開丼 (かいどん / Kai Don) – Likely the restaurant’s name. • 焼肉 vs 丼飯 – “Yakiniku vs Donburi” (Grilled meat vs Rice bowl) • ひとりでも いただきます – “Even alone, I’ll enjoy this meal.” (Encouraging solo diners) • 地表最強 – “The strongest on Earth” (A bold claim about their food) This restaurant seems to specialize in both grilled meat (yakiniku) and rice bowls (donburi), with a welcoming message for solo diners. Ok so going to call this place 'Kai Don' or 'Where to Kai Don', which specializes in grilled meat and rice bowls. I ordered the rice bowl with bacon and egg, along with the grilled chicken and sides. The food was excellent! Very, very impressive, especially for being available in a food court. The service was also excellent, along with the presentation. They served the food on a wooden tray, along with high quality plates and cutlery. This food court is under the Taipei 101 building. The food court is part of the Taipei 101 Mall. Highly recommended!
