Dongfahao is a Raohe Night Market institution that travel guides describe as a century-old shop in business for more than 80 years, and one of the market's Michelin-approved eateries. Remarkably for a night-market stall, it serves only three dishes - oyster and pig-intestine vermicelli, minced pork in thick soup, and Taiwanese sticky rice (oil rice) - each perfected over decades. The vermicelli notably comes in a clear broth with no starch added, a deliberate departure from the thicker versions found elsewhere. The stall is tucked into an alley of Raohe Street, close to the Songshan MRT terminus and the Ciyou Temple archway. Opening from 8:30 in the morning until midnight, it serves both the early market vendors and the evening crowds, making it a flexible stop for a light meal at almost any hour. It suits travellers chasing authentic, no-frills Taiwanese street food and anyone keen to tick off a Michelin-listed night-market bite without a long queue.
For a taste of old Taipei at its most unpretentious, order the vermicelli with its plump fresh oysters and lightly charred aroma, paired with a bowl of meat soup. Dongfahao's three-dish simplicity is the whole point - and the reason it has endured where trendier stalls have not.

The thin rice noodles with oysters and intestines are seriously da bomb—especially with a spoonful of their chili oil! It adds a perfect spicy kick to the naturally sweet broth. I’m also a fan of their sticky rice, but not really into the …
