2026 Dadaocheng Summer Festival

Taipei's signature summer riverside festival runs from 25 July to 15 August 2026 at Dadaocheng Pier and Yanping Riverside Park, and the 2026 edition lands with a headline twist - a first-ever collaboration with Sony Pictures that brings Spider-Man to the Tamsui riverfront. The opening night on 25 July and the closing show on 15 August each feature a 20-minute drone and fireworks display at 8pm, with hundreds of drones spelling out Spider-Man against the Taipei skyline, set to the original film score. Beyond the two blockbuster nights, the festival keeps the riverside buzzing for three weeks. An 8-minute themed fireworks show lights up on 5 August, a 9-metre Spider-Man figure stands ready for photos, and Yongle Plaza hosts live concerts and markets, while local Dadaocheng merchants roll out special offers across the historic tea and textile streets. It is the city's most photogenic summer event, and easily the best free evening out in Taipei this season. Arrive early on the 25 July and 15 August show nights - the riverfront fills fast, and the best vantage points near Dadaocheng Pier go first. Take the MRT to Beimen station and walk, as road closures and crowds make driving a poor option. Bring a picnic mat, settle in for the sunset, and let the drones and fireworks do the rest.
